Kelley & Patrick // The Machine Shop

Love at first site isn’t always the beginning of a couple’s love story, but when it comes to Kelley and Patrick, it was. After being introduced through a mutual friend, Kelley thought that Patrick was the most handsome man, and Patrick thought that Kelley’s smile was so infectious that she made the room stop. Because Patrick was very shy, Kelley thought he wasn’t interested. The start of their relationship was a simple study date and slowly evolved to a class trip that took them all the way to China. They never looked back.

To be honest, Kelley struggled to decide on a decor vision that she felt was elegant and romantic yet reflected their outdoorsy lifestyle. Wildflowers have always been something they admire on their hikes, so that became the focus of the decor vision. Kelley did not want the look to be too pastel, so the linens were left neutral and navy was introduced to add a more masculine touch. Flowers raining down the entire length of the room provided a magical setting and the twinkle lights added a stunning glow after dark. Kelley is from Oklahoma, so she (or at least her mom!) needed more sparkle - so chandeliers were also added. Lush floral centerpieces with bright colored florals, homemade dried pressed floral tapered candles, and of course, the dried pressed flowers on the cake and in the invitation suite completed the look.

Kelley and Patrick wanted their guests to find it easy to have a good time with great people, great food and drinks, and great music. Kelley’s parents added to the fun by surprising the couple with a performance by the O’Shea Irish Dancers. {Kelley has loved Riverdance since she was very young.} A raised stage was brought in for their performance which transitioned to a raised dance stage as well. {Fortunately, no one fell off!} Kelley loved the idea of a raised dance floor - little did she know the real reason behind it! Kelley surprised the groom with bubble hockey and foosball for cocktail hour. There was a band as well as late-night DJ, fun college-inspired late-night snacks and more dessert varieties than any one person could try.

It was an incredible night and one we are very grateful for being a part of!
