Venue Feature: St. Paul Historic Charmers

Calling out all newly engaged brides! Are all your favorite Minneapolis venues booked for months to come? Don't forget about our other fab twin city {yes, located on the other side of the river}! We have gathered some of our favorite St. Paul Venues filled with historic charm sure to delight your guests on your special day. Enjoy!

Landmark Center

The Landmark Center captivates with an old world feel through its grand cortile and lovely restored courtrooms.  The courtrooms are perfect for ceremonies and the grand cortile can accommodate up to one thousand guests. Once the site of famous 1930s Gangster trials, it made the National Register of Historic Places in 1969. Their mission, “Work of art serving people,” results in much of the rental fees being used to offer quality multi-cultural art events.

St. Paul Hotel

The St. Paul Hotel provides the convenience of on-site hotel rooms with the timeless beauty of this historic hotel.  {In fact, it is a member of Historic Hotels of America.}  With graciously appointed event spaces for up to 350 guests, high ceilings in the Promenade Ballroom and a reputation for excellent cuisine, elegance is ensured for your wedding day!  You can even primp in the luxuriously appointed L’etoile bridal suite.

Great Hall

Are you loving the 1920s Art Deco trend? If so, The Great Hall is the perfect venue for your wedding! This hidden gem in the center of St. Paul is set-up perfectly for ceremony to reception flips and has a large upper balcony perfect for mingling over cocktails.  The neutral but bright space is perfect for any décor vision and the flexible terms allow you to bring in any licensed caterer!

Christos

If you are looking to reflect upon history for your wedding, Christos can provide just that! Christos is the most historic landmark in all of St. Paul, situated within St. Paul’s Union Depot! Though recently restored, this stunning space includes an original 1917 clock with twelve ionic columns and a seventeen-foot bar so your guests will never go thirsty!  The marble columns just outside make for stunning photos!

317 on Rice Park

A perfect location for up to 175 guests, 317 on Rice is perfect for small to mid-sized weddings.   The large, arched windows allow for plenty of natural light {assuming a daytime wedding of course!} and the molded ceilings provide visual interest.  With several rooms to choose from, 317 on Rice works well for ceremonies and receptions.  You have the ability to be the only event going on at the time, bringing warmth and charm to your intimate wedding.

James J. Hill Center

James J. Hill Center {formally James J. Hill Reference Library} is another one of our favorites due to its memorable setting. With styling of the Italian Renaissance, this venue has an exterior of Tennessee marble as one of its unique features. Also listed on the National Register of Historic Places, brides have picked this historic Reference Library for their wedding because of the incredible architectural detail, the amazing marble floors and the distinctive photo opportunities.
