Megan & Willy // Mosaic

Like many modern-day couples, the story of Megan and Willy started on Hinge. Their first date was drinks at Parlour Bar in the MInneapolis North Loop where the conversation was effortless and fun. As their relationship progressed, it continued to be just as effortless and free-flowing as that first date. Moving in together right before the pandemic hit and adding their Bernese Mountain dog, Tito, into their home began what they saw as a future together. Soon after, they bought their first home.

So when it came time to plan their wedding, Megan and Willy envisioned it to be effortless and fun and include their shared passions for Tito, of course, great food, interesting cocktails, and fun activities - everything they enjoy in their spare time. They selected a non-conventional venue, Royal Foundry, to keep the mood casual and fun. When we discovered the venue was closing, we quickly pivoted to a new venue, Mosaic, where we recreated the charm that drew them to the previous venue - the large FOUNDRY letters. We created a large M and W and hung the floral within for their ceremony and headtable backdrop - just as we had planned at the previous venue. Smoked old-fashioneds, French 75’s, and Finnegan’s beer flowed as guests enjoyed delicious food, live music, and plenty of activities, including a photo booth and arcade games Big Buck Hunter and Basketball Double Shot, both of which Megan and Willy own in their basement. Dancing to the Bluewater Kings, Megan and Willy created exactly what they wished: a perfect night-on-the-town experience for their guests.

Their personal style and home decor inspired the wedding design. Cozy, industrial, natural colors and fabrics paired with beautiful whites, creams, beiges, and soft blush with touches of moody black created a soothing aesthetic. Three different linens, centerpieces, and place settings created texture and interest at each and every table. Black flatware, mixed chargers, and smoky glassware added even more drama. For the head table and parent tables, a piece of wheat was added to honor a family tradition on Willy’s side to represent an abundance of love. Tito was included by welcoming each guest as the face of the wax seal on the menus.

Megan and Willy’s main priority was to immerse their guests in their life and who they are. Their event was elegant yet playful, stunning, but not overdone; words which perfectly describe this amazing couple!
