Charlie Coyle found Danielle Hooper, Miss Minnesota 2013, on Instagram and started following her for several months before having the nerve to slip into her DMs. Danielle was not interested in dating an athlete so Charlie, who at the time played for the Minnesota Wild, was unsuccessful in making a connection. However, while ringing in 2018, Danielle and Charlie hit it off while attending the same New Year’s Eve party and they soon became inseparable. The two dated while both lived in MN, but early in their relationship a trade for Charlie to his home team, the Boston Bruins, changed the status of their relationship to long-distance dating. Danielle eventually joined Charlie in Boston, where they now live with their two golden retrievers, Gracie and Bodie. Then one day, while throwing around a football (of all things) with Danielle on a Nantucket beach, Charlie proposed.

Danielle and Charlie planned their wedding mainly from Boston and although Danielle is from Minnesota, this was a destination wedding for the couple and the majority of their guests. The vision for their wedding was for it to be romantic and airy, yet fresh and modern. They didn’t want to overthink decisions and though the aesthetic was important, creating a fun and memorable guest experience was the priority above all else. Arcade games, loads of donuts, a photo booth, a late-night speakeasy with espresso martinis, late-night Taco Bell, and of course, the best DJ in town made for a memorable night for this incredibly kind and beautiful couple and their guests.
