Amanda and Paras’s story is proof that timing really is everything. The two first met online in New York City and went on a few dates before life pulled them in different directions. Amanda moved to Michigan for graduate school, and things naturally paused. A few years later, back in New York, they reconnected. And this time, it was meant to be! What started as a second chance quickly turned into something lasting, effortless, and undeniably destined.
Their wedding weekend beautifully blended Indian traditions with a modern aesthetic. While both were born in the U.S., their connection to their culture played a central role in shaping the celebration. They embraced a traditional multi-day format, but infused it with their personalities through food, music, and design choices that felt fresh and personal. From the start, it was clear this weekend was about creating an experience for everyone they love.
The festivities began with a vibrant sangeet that set the tone for the entire weekend. Guests were welcomed with live Indian street food, a mehndi artist, and playful details like a rickshaw selfie station and bangle cart. The evening unfolded into an hour of choreographed performances, filled with energy, humor, and heartfelt moments, before opening into a packed dance floor. It was a high-energy, joy-filled celebration that perfectly foreshadowed the unforgettable weekend ahead.
The next day brought the baraat, where Paras arrived on horseback surrounded by music, dancing, and an infectious excitement that carried straight into the ceremony. Following the ceremony, the space was seamlessly transformed for the evening ahead. Guests returned to their rooms to change while the ceremony site was reimagined into an inviting cocktail hour. As everyone gathered again, they were welcomed with Indian-inspired appetizers and the rhythmic sounds of a live tabla performance, set against the mandap now repurposed as a stage.
Once cocktail hour was over, guests were led into the reception, where the night truly came alive. The room was filled with rich color and texture, from vibrant florals to layered blue linens that nodded to Amanda’s favorite hue. An expansive Indian buffet offered a feast of flavors, while a lively dance floor, photo booth, and carefully curated music kept the celebration going late into the night. Paras’s influence could be felt in the seamless blend of traditional bhangra beats with Western hits, creating a soundtrack that reflected both their cultures and their personalities.
Throughout the weekend, it was the intentional details that made everything feel so personal. The sangeet’s playful rickshaw selfie station and bangle cart added a sense of fun and immersion, while the choreographed family performances, practiced for months, brought emotional energy that resonated with everyone present. The baraat, alive with infectious energy and the vibrant beat of the dhol drum, marked the start of an unforgettable evening.
The weekend concluded with a farewell brunch; one final, relaxed moment for guests to gather, reflect, and soak in the memories of an unforgettable celebration. It was the perfect closing note to a wedding defined by joy, connection, and vibrant energy.
