Finding your wedding dress is one of the most iconic moments in the planning process, and one that deserves intention. The right gown reflects your personality, complements your venue/wedding day design, and moves effortlessly throughout your day.
We recommend beginning your search 10–12 months before your wedding. This allows time for ordering and custom alterations without feeling rushed. When shopping, keep your overall design in mind. A structured satin gown may feel perfectly at home in a grand ballroom, while a soft, romantic silhouette might better suit a garden or lakeside celebration. Even the shade can make a difference, with ivory bringing a warm touch and pure white reflecting a certain cool elegance. To learn what’s best for you, check out our blog on ivory vs. white wedding dresses!
Equally important to style is how your dress functions. Can you comfortably sit, walk, and dance? Will you want a second look for your reception or after-party? Many brides might opt for an outfit change, something lighter, more playful, or fashion-forward, to transition the energy of the evening.
And don’t underestimate the power of tailoring. The difference between a beautiful dress and your dress is often in the alterations. A skilled seamstress ensures every detail is flawlessly fitted to you. A simple tailoring job can enhance your dress’s beauty by miles!
When choosing your bridal boutique, look for a personalized, elevated experience. The right team will listen carefully, guide thoughtfully, and help you feel confident in your decision without pressure. The six listed below are highly regarded by both the Twin Cities wedding community and us.

minnesota groom’s suits
Groom’s attire has evolved beautifully in recent years, and we’re totally here for it! Today’s grooms are embracing style in a way that truly enhances the overall wedding look, tailored entirely to their own. Whether a classic black tuxedo, a retro white dinner jacket, or a rich pop of color, your look should complement the overall aesthetic of your wedding while still feeling authentic. Fit is everything. A well-tailored suit or tux instantly elevates your presence and photographs impeccably.
We recommend deciding early whether you’ll rent or purchase. Purchasing offers the opportunity for custom tailoring and long-term wear, while renting can be an easy option for grooms who don't want the expense or a spare suit or tux in their closet. It’s also perfectly suitable for the groom to purchase and the groomsmen to rent, offering the groom complete flexibility.
Don’t forget the details; they’re where personality shines! Think monogrammed shirt cuffs, unique cufflinks, statement loafers, or even a custom jacket lining with a meaningful pattern or embroidery. We recommend hand-tied bow ties over pre-tied ones for the ultimate polish. Just be sure you learn (before the big day!) how to tie them and practice often!
And for those planning outfit changes: a wardrobe shift toward a more relaxed or fashion-forward look for the reception can be a fun moment, especially when paired with a high-energy dance-floor reveal. Swapping out the jacket and shoes can completely transform the look, and frankly, why should the bride have all the fun?

Your beauty team plays a quiet but powerful role in your wedding day. They’re there in the early hours, setting the tone, creating calm, and ensuring you feel like the most elevated version of yourself from the very first moment. You should look like you, just with a polished, long-lasting finish that holds up through every hug, happy tear, and hour on the dance floor.
We always recommend scheduling a trial 2 months before your wedding. This is your opportunity to refine the look, test longevity, and ensure alignment with your overall style. A trial is a must; you don’t want to hold off until your wedding day, and not even recognize yourself in the mirror! Bring inspiration photos, but remain open. An experienced artist will tailor the look to your features, dress, and the formality and timing of the event.
Timing is also key. Your planner (hi, that’s us!) will build a detailed beauty schedule to ensure a smooth, relaxed morning with no rushing. It’s also a little-known fact that for an extra fee, your hair and makeup team lead can stay through touch-ups prior to the ceremony or even into your reception if you’re planning a second look.
And let’s not forget your wedding party. A cohesive, but not necessarily identical, beauty direction ensures everyone feels confident while still aligning with your overall aesthetic.
