In honor of gay pride weekend, we are featuring one of our favorite commitment ceremonies! Christopher and Michael walked down the aisle together at the beautiful Landmark Center. With their beloved dog as their ring bearer, guests knew that they would be in for an unforgettable occasion. Printed on their program was a quote from Sophia Petrillo from The Golden Girls, “Everyone wants someone to grow old with, and shouldn’t everyone have that chance?” Personal touches such as this one, spoke to who they are as a couple. Decorated with blacks, whites, grays and shades of yellow, the ceremony and reception were stunning! Contrary to tradition, the couple used crystal brooches instead of boutonnieres. To speak to Christopher and Michael’s passion for fine food and tasting menus, guests were served an exquisite six course dinner at The Saint Paul Hotel. Taking center stage was a stunning cake, which was tastefully inspired by men’s clothing. With glow sticks in hand, the guests had a blast while they danced the night away. Those who didn’t prefer dancing occupied themselves with the WII station set up on the big screen! A word of advice to those who are planning their own commitment ceremonies . . . stay true to who you are as a couple! Express personalized touches in your vows, décor and attire. Screen your vendors to ensure they are as thrilled about your wedding day as you are. And if you are one of the lucky ones invited to such a significant and emotionally sensitive ceremony, understand what an honor it is to witness the declaration of the couple’s commitment as life-long partners.
