A'bulae // Raquel & Jared

It was all smiles, googley eyes, and love at first sight when the couple met on a night out on the town in Chicago. Jared was on a trip to Chicago with some of his college buddies and Raquel, originally from Minnesota but living in Chicago, was hitting the night scene with friends when they first laid eyes on each other.  After maintaining a long distance relationship for 2.5 years, Jared proposed to Raquel in the midst of a snowy Minnesota winter on Christmas day in front of Raquel's entire family {how sweet!}.

Raquel wore a stunning Lazaro ball gown on her big day {and was even lucky enough to meet the sought-after designer himself}, while Jared dressed in a classic black tuxedo that had a custom fuchsia lining, with a fun polka-dot bow tie.  For dancing {and the limbo}, Raquel changed into a fun, flirty, custom-made jumpsuit {that was equally as gorgeous}.  I've never seen a bride limbo in four inch pink heels!  As for decor, the bride has long had an infatuation with Kate Spade and her bright, bold, exuberant style {which perfectly describes the bride herself!} and therefore Raquel envisioned the designer’s iconic style as the inspiration for her wedding.  A variety of pink hues with pops of fuchsia and gold were incorporated throughout the day, along with playful designs such as stripes and polka-dots.

As a nod to their long term relationship, it only made sense that their first dance song was “Home” by Michael Buble.  Being a flight attendant, Raquel was often away from home. She said the song was a perfect choice as “home is where Big (Jared) is.”  Aww.....
